FAQ
Welcome to the FAQ section of my website. Here, you can find answers to common questions regarding my art, commissions, or this site. Simply select a question below and click its title to view the answer.
If you do not find the information you need, please feel free to reach out using the contact form here. Your inquiry not only helps me provide a clear response for you but also allows me to improve and expand the FAQ for others who may have the same question.
What commisssions do you offer?
Below is an overview of the commission types I offer. My expertise spans a variety of mediums, so please don't hesitate to inquire about requests that may not be listed here. In cases where a project falls outside my availability or experience, I maintain a list of trusted artists to whom I can confidently refer you.
Handmade Items
Please note that all purchases are handmade to order. Depending on the size of your order, please allow 4 to 7 days for completion before shipping.
Orders are processed once your chosen payment method has successfully cleared.
All transactions are handled securely through PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account, you may also use PayPal Guest Checkout.
You can review and edit your cart at any time before completing your purchase by clicking the "Cart" button in the main menu at the top of the site.
Once your order is completed, you will receive a notification along with tracking information. If you wish, I can also provide photos of your completed items before shipment. Please indicate your preferred method of receiving previews in the "Special Instructions" section during checkout.
At this time, I am only accepting orders from within the U.S. If you are located outside the U.S. and would like to place an order, please contact me with your request. I will calculate shipping costs for your region and update the checkout process accordingly.
How do I commission you?
The first step is to contact me using the form on my contact page here. If my current commission slots are full, you will be added to the upcoming waiting list.
Below is a template you can use when submitting details for your commission. This template is optional and serves as a reference to help ensure all necessary information is provided.
Please note that this template is a guideline. If certain sections (such as pose, deadline, etc.) do not apply or you do not have answers for them, you may leave them blank. Additionally, if there is any other important information that does not fit into the template, please include it under the "Other" section.

What is the procedure for payment?
At this time, I only accept payments via PayPal. Cash payments are not accepted, and partial or split payments (from multiple individuals for the same commission) are not permitted.
Payment must be completed within one week of the invoice being issued. Work on your commission will not begin until full payment is received. Please note that certain PayPal payment methods, such as e-checks, may take additional time to clear. The one-week payment window refers to the time to submit payment, not the processing time of the payment method, which may delay when work begins.
Commission availability is limited, so timely payment is essential to secure your slot and allow work to start promptly. If payment is not received within one week of the invoice, the invoice will be canceled, and the slot will be made available to another client.
What carriers do you use for shipping?
The shipping carrier used depends on whether your item is custom or non-custom. All non-custom items purchased from my shop are shipped via USPS by default. If you prefer a different carrier, you may contact me in advance, and I can create a custom invoice including the shipping costs for your chosen carrier. Otherwise, carrier selection is only available for custom orders.
For custom commissions, you may choose USPS, UPS, or FedEx as your shipping carrier. This must be discussed during the commission details process. Once all commission details are finalized and agreed upon, I will issue an invoice that includes the fees for your selected carrier. Shipping costs will be clearly itemized on the invoice under "Shipping," "Shipping Costs," or "Shipping & Handling."
When will I recieve my order?
The timeline for completing a commission depends on several factors. I typically work on up to five commissions simultaneously, so yours will be one of multiple projects in progress. The complexity and level of detail in your piece also significantly affect how quickly it can be completed.
Another important factor is the speed of your responses regarding details or previews. Delays in providing feedback--such as taking a week to respond--can extend the overall timeline. To minimize wait time, it's best to provide all relevant details about your piece at the outset.
Unless a specific deadline was agreed upon when you first contacted me, I do not provide a set completion date. Please note that "as soon as possible" does not constitute a deadline; a specific timeframe or mutually agreed-upon date is required to establish a firm completion schedule.
Can I post my finished commission _____?
Once a commissioned piece is completed, you are free to share it wherever you like. You may use my artwork for non-commercial purposes--such as icons, banners, or references--but it may not be used for commercial purposes (e.g., selling prints) unless this was explicitly agreed upon at the time of commission.
The watermark or signature on the artwork may not be removed under any circumstances. While including credit or a link back when reposting is not required, it is always greatly appreciated.
If you wish to use the artwork for any purpose beyond sharing or personal use, please contact me for permission beforehand.
How long do you keep commissions?
First, I want to clarify that I generally do not keep copies of commissioned work indefinitely. This applies to digital art, traditional pieces, and photographs of traditional artwork. Occasionally, I may retain one or two pieces per year that I feel best represent my work during that period, but this is the exception rather than the rule.
Typically, commissioned pieces are kept for about one year. This timeframe allows for situations such as requesting another copy, making modifications, resizing, or other adjustments. While there is a very small chance I may retain a piece beyond one year, it is unlikely.
For digital commissions, please let me know in advance if you would like to keep the original sketch. I do not retain sketches for digital pieces once they have been approved and I begin the line art stage.
I generally do not keep sketches for any commissions or personal artwork. If I did, I would quickly run out of space--quite literally requiring an entire house just for my art!
*artist goals*
If you would like a sketch shipped to you, I am happy to accommodate this. Just let me know when we are discussing the details of your commission so I can arrange to send it.
Can I draw Plague (or your other characters)?
I have no issue with others creating artwork of my main character, Plague, or any of my other characters, provided that appropriate credit is given to me as the original creator and owner. While it is not required, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share a link to your finished work, as I enjoy seeing the creative ideas you come up with.
Can I use _____ art piece of yours?
I may occasionally permit the use of artwork I have created for myself, provided prior consent is obtained. Please contact me with details regarding the specific piece, its intended use, and any other relevant information.
Under no circumstances may commissioned artwork be used by anyone other than the purchaser. While the buyer retains rights to the characters depicted, I retain all rights to the artwork itself. Therefore, the purchaser may only authorize use of their character designs--not the original artwork.
Usage of my art in AI
All artwork and commissions created by me are not authorized for use in artificial intelligence applications under any circumstances. This includes the use of my work in datasets, training models, generative tools, or any automated systems designed to replicate, analyze, or produce derivative content.
I retain full rights to my work, and any use involving AI technologies without explicit written permission is strictly prohibited. This applies to both commercial and non-commercial contexts.
Respect for artists and their intellectual property is essential, and I appreciate your understanding and compliance with this policy.
Other information & facts
Please do not attempt to pressure or manipulate me in an effort to receive free artwork. Free art will not be provided in exchange for requests or attempts to add extra characters or work to a commission. You will receive exactly what you have paid for--no more, no less. This work is how I make a living and support my family, and I ask that you show respect for that.
If I choose to create gift art, I will typically make a public announcement with clear guidelines. Gift art is something I do voluntarily in my own time and is not a commission; I retain full creative control over the piece. Since it is offered freely, it should not be treated as an opportunity to make additional requests or pressure me in any way.
No Art Trades
On the rare occasions that I am open to an art trade, I will initiate the offer myself. Generally, I do not participate in art trades, as they often result in cancellations or misunderstandings that effectively become requests for free art. As mentioned previously, I do not provide free or gift art.
No Collaborative Art
I have attempted collaborative projects with several artists in the past, but these experiences have consistently resulted in unreliability or misconduct. As a result, I am no longer interested in pursuing collaborative work with others.
Do Not Negotiate And/Or Manipulate
My prices are fixed and reflect the value of my work. If they do not meet your needs, I encourage you to seek another artist. Attempts to negotiate discounts or pressure me are considered disrespectful and will result in declining to work with you. I do not have the time or patience to work with clients who do not demonstrate basic courtesy and common sense.
Only Serious Inquiries Please
I ask that messages and emails be kept primarily focused on commission-related inquiries and requests. My inbox can become overwhelming, and sorting through unrelated messages can delay the completion of ongoing commissions. Please respect my time and that of other clients awaiting their artwork.
This is not intended to discourage non-commission-related contact entirely. I simply ask that you be mindful of message frequency, as responses may be slower when I am attending to other priorities. For general conversation or more frequent contact on non-commission topics, I encourage connecting with me through one of the social media platforms listed on the front page of my site.
